EOTD: Cozy Fall

I have to admit, I get a lot of inspiration from YouTube. My favourites to watch are typically professional makeup artists - like Raychel Wade, who posted this video yesterday and got me really in the mood for some autumnal makeup. I like to give credit where credit is due, so please check out her video below to see her version!

Burgundy, cranberry, and plummy colours are some of my absolute favourites. (Seriously, you should see my Z-palette.) I always feel most comfortable wearing them in fall, and since the weather is *just* starting to turn where I live - there is a little nip in the air as the sun sets, and a of couple trees are starting to lose their green - I couldn't resist reaching for my beloved burgundy shadows! MAC Star Violet is a little less intense in colour than something like Cranberry or Coastal Scents ME15, both of which make a bit more of a colour statement. Star Violet is a touch more sedate, and that's why I thought that was it a perfect choice to showcase in the beginning of fall...

I used:
MAC Star Violet - all over the lid
MAC Handwritten - buffed into the outer corner, a touch on the outer lower lash line
Urban Decay Blaze - innermost portion of lid, top and bottom
Urban Decay Roach - lower lash line
Wet N Wild Brulee - to blend out top edge
Coastal Scents Buttermilk Nude - under brow highlight
Urban Decay Bootycall and Half Baked - inner corner highlight
L'Oreal Infallible gel liner in Espresso
Jordana Best Lash Extreme mascara
Clinique Bottom Lash mascara

Thanks for looking!

  2. Yay! I'm so glad you like it! I needed to add the liner to keep the burgundy from making my face look totally drained. I did a much larger wing than I normally would, but I really loved it with this look! I didn't capture the sultriness of the final look in the pics unfortunately....
